Hawkers, acrobats, archers, fire eaters, jugglers, musicians, military men, ladies and artists make merry in the beautiful Piazza San Francesco with un’orario “non-stop” from 10.00 to 0.00 for Lucca Medievale.

On 4 and 5 June, the old town of Lucca will be crossed by historical woo ladies, men-at-arms, drummers and flag bearers who will join after the reading of the “Bando” in Piazza San Francesco, the occasion for this is the largest medieval festival Torneo dei Balestrieri Sunday 5, where Contrade San Paolino and the Company of Archers will compete for the coveted prize painting by artist Dionigi Angelo Fornaciari, depicting the Holy Face with the background a crossbow. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday (after the tournament) you will be able to play the Great Game of the Goose and in the evening you can have dinner with dishes of the Middle Ages and admire the proposed performances that will have a magical setting created by acrobats and fire-eaters. A medieval market will offer the opportunity to see the work of the old crafts (blacksmith, basket maker …) combined with heraldic research, astrologers and white witches, setting that along with the set of historical groups resurface the flavors of the Middle Ages.
All shows are free, there is no entrance fee.
